Setting Up Membership Sites As A Freelancer

You add real value when you are able to set up something such as a membership site. I learned how to do this last year after spending time with the Wishlist membership plug-in videos and training site, and now they are offering a certification for those who want to do this for others.

Imagine spending the next few months setting up membership sites for others, and being paid well to do so. While you are being paid for your ‘on the job training’ you can put your own ideas to work and set up a membership site for your own niche topic.

Wishlist gives you the opportunity to learn from some of the best technology teachers online today, and with more than 24,000 members already using this plug-in for their membership sites you will find clients very easily. Watch the video and learn more now about becoming a freelancer to earn while you learn over the next few months. People contact me regularly looking for web designers, freelancers, and virtual assistants who can do this type of work for them. You can be the one to help them as you’re building your own online business.

Membership Sites – Now Easier Than Ever To Set Up

Are you using membership sites to build your online business and increase your revenue? When I first got started online I decided that having a membership site was of interest to me. Unfortunately, at that time it was cost prohibitive and required a team of technical people to keep your site up and running. Without any members in place this just didn’t seem like a smart idea, so I filed it under business strategies I would look into as my business and income grew over time.

Now it is easier than ever to set up and maintain as many membership sites as you like, thanks to changes in technology for ease of use. I use the Wishlist Member plug-in for WordPress. The most important thing is to decide what the topic will be, what type of content, training, and other information you will provide, and how you will continually market your membership site to be able to find new members. All of this will make the difference in whether or not you are as successful as you want and deserve to be.

I have many of these sites now, and each one is

5 Ways To Make More Money With Membership Sites

This is a guest post from Jimmy D. Brown on how to make more money with memberships sites. Enjoy!

Many people mistakenly believe that their membership site income only comes from the monthly subscriptions that they receive. This is far from the truth.

While there is certainly a bulk of monthly income that streams in from the rebills, that’s just the tip of the iceberg.

What you have to realize is this:  you members are customers.  That makes your membership database a customer list.

Now, I’m not a proponent of bombarding your customers with a whole slew of offers day after day.  I don’t believe in becoming an offer harlot where you do nothing but blast out offers for the sake of making a buck.

These are your CUSTOMERS.  And as such they should be treated with regard.

But, at the same time, there are several different ways that you can make backend income from your membership site without blasting out an “offer of the day”.

Here are some ideas to help you turn your site into a profit-pulling machine.

1. Promote affiliate offers.

Affiliate marketing works really well within the membership site model because you’ve built up trust with your audience. They’ve seen your monthly content and know that you offer quality. They will trust your recommendations because you’ve offered good content in the past.

Choose affiliate offers that tie directly into popular topics within your membership site.

Re-read that last statement.  It’s all about relevance.

Ebooks, video courses and short reports will add value for your members and boost your backend sales, but primarily as an ENHANCEMENT that is related to your content.

Post an article to your membership site members with good content and a link to the recommended product.

*TIP* What I have always found to work best is to promote an offer that “fuels” the content.  Example:  If I posted content that shares “7 Ways To Make Money With Ezine Articles” I might promote a software program that automates the distribution of ezine articles.  If I shared content entitled, “7 Ways To Use PLR Videos To Up Your Profit” I might promote an offer that supplies members with PLR videos.

The offer becomes an extension of the content without competing with the content.

2. Sell advertising

You can charge a small fee per month to existing members or outside advertisers to display their text ads or display ads on your site. You can display advertising in the sidebars and just under the header of your membership site.

Search for advertising directories to list the advertising space and add the offer to your signature file in forums that you visit.

Create an “Advertise On This Site” link on your site pages.  Mention advertising in your newsletter, etc.

You’ll start to see advertising dollars start to roll in the more you publicize the offer.

3. Offer personalized coaching

No matter how much instruction you provide inside of the membership forum, there will always be people who will want something a bit more hands on.

You can offer exclusive one on one coaching for members who want that extra help. You can charge this as a one-time fee or as a additional monthly subscription (sort of like a membership site within a membership site).

Alternatively, you can offer teleconference calls for membership site members for a small additional fee.

4. Sell your own advanced products

There are bound to be topics within your membership site that deserve special attention.

You can make backend sales by creating products around these topics and offering them to your members.

For example, if you’re running a membership site on weight loss you can create a special report on the best exercises to do to blast through a weight loss plateau. Offer this at a special price to your members.

You can also sell the same report at a higher price to non-members to drive traffic back to your website to grow your membership.

For even greater results, sell licensing to the report so other people can sell it to their lists and thus promote your membership site that is mentioned inside the report.

The ideas are limitless.

Again, the key is to make the special report fit with the content itself.  It’s never a replacement for the content you share.  It’s an extension of it.

5. Turn membership site content into individual products

Once you’ve built a good amount of content within your site, you can start using the content for other purposes. Package up your articles on a specific topic and sell them as a special report. You can even sell resell rights to the report so that your membership site’s name and link is distributed widely around the ‘net. You can do this with several different sections of your website to make some backend income and get new members for your website.

With one or several of these techniques you can create several streams of income from your membership site and attract new members. Our goal is to make money with membership sites.

Again, I want to emphasize that you should always take care of your members.  Don’t treat them as bottomless pits that you want to continue dropping offers into.  Present additional offers sparingly and strategically as we’ve mentioned today.

You’ll keep your members happy — and you’ll be happy as you make more money.

And if you’d like to KEEP your members LONG TERM, I can show you how to get a staggeringly high retention rate.  Most members drop out after about 3-4 months max.  I can show you how I keep my members 12 months easily!  All from a membership site setup in less than 48 hours. Get all the details here.

Start A Membership Site For Passive Online Income

How will you know when you are ready for your own membership site? This is an important question to answer as you get started online and build your business. I am using the WordPress membership site plug-in for this, and it has increased my passive online income tremendously. I now have more than a dozen of these sites, but they are each set up in a slightly different way so that I can maximize my potential for increasing my income and reaching new prospects to show them who I am and what I do on the Internet that can help them to achieve their goals. You will want o take into consideration the type of niche you are working in, who you are trying to reach, and how your membership site will serve the purpose you are intending.

I believe that you can serve members no matter which niche you are working in, but you must take into account what they need and what they may be expecting from such a site. For example, my niche is online marketing, which means that my people want to learn things such as how to drive traffic to their sites, list building, article writing and marketing, affiliate marketing, and more techniques and methods for increasing their revenue on the Internet. I have some smaller niches, such as dog training and real estate, where the goals of my prospects are very different.

Different people respond to what we have to offer within a membership site in very different ways. You may be offering

Membership Sites to Build Your Online Income

Membership sites have become more popular than ever, but you must take a close look at your own business to see if this marketing strategy makes sense for you. I currently have more than a dozen of these sites set up, and even I am amazed at how simple it is to have streams of income from this online business model. I use Wishlist Member, and have found this to be the easiest to set up and the most economical of all of the membership site options. It’s simply a plugin you can install in just a few minutes, and it turns your WordPress site into a membership site immediately. The most widely used sites are those for online courses you teach, stand alone products and bonuses you want to deliver safely, and the free membership model to build your list and grow your income.

I teach a variety of courses through teleseminars and webinars. Typically these last for about four to five weeks. It has become easy for me to set up a membership site where the students can access the trainings, download the bonuses, and stay connected to the course. It helps me immensely by my not having to rely on

Membership Sites – Invite Your Prospects To Join Yours For Free

Membership sites have never been more popular than they are at this time in our online history. I have 7 of them myself, and I can tell you it is a wonderful way to increase your income and to build residual income for the future. To make a connection with your prospects, offering them a free membership to your site can be the best overall strategy. We all like that feeling of belonging to a community, and your membership site can be that place for the people on your list.

I use a simple WordPress plug-in to set up all of my membership sites. It is inexpensive and easy to install, so check it out and see what you think.

Now you may be wondering how you can ever make any money if your site is free. The answer is quite simple. You invite them to join, continue giving useful information on your topic, and they will allow you to market to them for as long as they remain a member. It’s the law of reciprocity that makes this work so well.

Think about it, when someone gives you

Offer Your List A Free Membership To One Of Your Sites

You may know that I now have 6 membership sites. These sites allow me to have multiple streams of online income in the areas where I am something of an expert. These include article marketing, affiliate marketing, and marketing for small businesses. So how can this help you, you may be asking?

I decided to offer one of these memberships at no cost to the people who have been on my list for more than two years and have continued to be supportive of what I am doing on the Internet to help them achieve the success they want and deserve. This is my way of paying them back for their loyalty and support.

What are you an expert in that you could offer to your list? It is so simple to set up these membership sites now, there just isn’t any reason not to use this technique for building your relationship with your list. Read my short report on membership sites and see how this business model will help you to build your own online empire.

Offer Your List A Free Membership Site

It has never been so easy to set up your own membership site. With the help of a new membership plugin for your WordPress blog, you are able to add your articles, links to teleseminars, tips, resources, and more. I recommend offering a free membership to the people on your list. This allows them to access your content on your niche topic, as long as they remain on your list.

Everyone loves the idea of belonging to a group. It gives us a place to connect with the people and information that will make a difference in our lives, By creating this type of community on the internet you will build trust with your target market and they will be more likely to buy from you.

Many people who are now Internet millionaires started out with free membership sites, and many continue to offer this type of site without cost as one of their business models. The membership plugin I am speaking of allows you to add other levels of membership to the same site, so you can create a paid membership when you are ready to do so. If you do decide to set this up, let me know and I will send you a 90 minute webinar I created that shows you exactly how to set it up and get started.

Interview Someone Special For Your List

Interviews are a powerful way to connect with your list. At least once a month I like to interview someone special for my people. I choose someone who has something special to offer the people who trust me to share my knowledge with them.

Last month I interviewed Tracy Childers, the co-founder of Wishlist Member. This is a WordPress plug-in that turns your WordPress blog into a membership site. I have four of these membership sites set up already, so I knew my list would want to hear more and to be able to ask Tracy their specific questions.

So now you may be thinking ‘So how do I find people
