Your Blog Content, The Written Kind

This is a guest post from Peggy Baron:

It’s kind of a no-brainer, but in order to get all SEO-ey on your blog content, you’ve first got to have content. I mean, you can’t put traffic and conversion tactics to work if you don’t have any material on your blog to work with, right?

Now I know you know there are different ways to deliver your content – the written word, videos, podcasts, big infographics, etc. – and those are all good.

But let’s go a little deeper here with one of these methods; the written kind, because that’s the one you’ll probably post most often.

To begin with, you have choices as to who actually does the content writing:

  • you
  • guest poster – excellent way to have others add their expertise and send their traffic
  • paid blogger – when you get big, you can hire a team of bloggers
  • you
  • PLR – rewrite it for maximum advantage
  • ghostwriter – find one that knows your topic and doesn’t charge too much
  • you
  • EzineArticles – Tip: You can’t change the article you use from them but you can add an intro before and a conclusion after the article with your keywords.

If you’re like the majority of bloggers, it will most likely be you doing the writing. Here’s a logical process that can help you get maximum bang for your efforts:

1. Start with the purpose of your post by deciding what end action you want your reader to take.

The action you want them to take might be to:

  • buy your product
  • buy an affiliate product
  • opt-in for something (to build your list)
  • download a free report (that has your product links or affiliate links in it)
  • read another post (internal linking)
  • tweet, like, 1+, etc. (go viral and get your brand everywhere)
  • other

2. Now decide which form you want your post to take while keeping your end action in mind:

  • pillar post with lots of meat that others will link to
  • pre-sell a product or affiliate product
  • case study to show your results or another’s results
  • curated news regarding the latest trends in your industry
  • newsy update of what you’ve been working on
  • bulleted list of tips, mistakes or steps and yes, these still work
  • rant about what’s wrong and what’s a better alternative
  • other

Are you wondering if your blog content should be short? Long? Lots of graphics or screenshots? Quotes? These questions usually work themselves out as you write the post. Make it just as long as it needs to be and add graphics sparingly where they seem to make the most sense.

Tip: You can find quotes at www.quotegarden.com

3. Start with an outline. Yes, it’s only a blog post and not an epic novel, but you want it to make sense; have a beginning, middle and end, with the end already predetermined by you (see #1 above). That way it doesn’t wander all over the place and cause your reader to wander right out of there before they even get to the end.

The big plus is that outlining really helps you get your article written faster! Once you figure out what information you want to impart, it’s a matter of filling in the blanks.

In case you’re wondering, I did start with an outline of sorts for this post. icon smile Your Blog Content, The Written Kind

Tip: What makes writing your posts even easier is to use an Easy Article Starter. It’s better than an outline.

4.  Write the post paying close attention to creating a compelling title. Be sure to add your keywords in the title and body. The introduction is where you capture your readers’ attention so this is not the time to be boring. You can introduce and illustrate the problem you’re going to be talking about in the body.

The conclusion is important too, because you’re going to lead them to your call to action – the one you came up with in the beginning, the reason why you’re even writing the blog post.

5. Add graphics, internal links, affiliate links, etc. Don’t be shy! It’s perfectly okay to add affiliate links to an informative post. It’s very natural to put them in when you’re explaining how to do something. You’re being helpful and letting your readers know where to go, via your affiliate link, if they want to get further information.

6. Promote the heck out of it via your email list and social media, and perhaps do some blog commenting on blogs that use ComLuv to get eyeballs over to your blog. Heck, you can even call your mother and let her know too. If she’s like mine, she won’t really understand but she’ll be glad you’re doing “work” of some sort.

7. Repurpose your blog content. There are so many ways to do this, so I’ll just mention a few:

  • Put all your blog posts together on a similar topic and turn them into a report or ebook.
  • Post it in the Articles sub-forum on the Warrior Forum.
  • Rework it and put in EzineArticles directory.
  • Expand on it and make it part of a membership program.
  • Send it to one of your lists in the form of an email.
  • Do a PowerPoint to go with it and turn it into a video.

The more content you have on your site, the more you can work the SEO magic and get the traffic you need. With more traffic you can begin to make the sales and affiliate sales you’ve been wanting. Now go forth and write! icon smile Your Blog Content, The Written Kind

How To Write A Profitable eBook For Passive And Residual Online Income

Are you thinking about learning how to write an eBook? When I decided to write my first eBook back in 2006, the course that helped me the most was from Jim Edwards. It was called 7 Day eBooks, and it covered every aspect of how to write and market my information on the Internet. I went on to write an eBook about marketing for real estate agents, and that book sold for $47 until I took it down sometime in 2008. I no longer have an interest in real estate, so I went on to write several more eBooks on a variety of topics. Jim has recently updated and completely redone this eBook writing and marketing course and released it as Version 2 for only $29.

The main training for this course is over 500 pages, and the additional modules include formatting, how to publish on Kindle, and much more. I recommend printing out one section at a time so that you can take notes and get moving on what continues to be the very best way to get started and continue earning a regular online income. I like the idea of passive and residual income, and writing an eBook that you can sell for years to come is the shortest path to online success.

If you have been spending too much time and money trying to figure out how to write an eBook, then Jim Edwards professionally created program is the one that makes the most sense at the very best price. Let me know when you get started so I can share your topic with my community.

Repurpose Your Content To Write And Publish Your Book

When I first heard about the concept of repurposing, the idea of creating content once to use over and over again finally made sense. I had been writing articles and blog posts, but the entire process was taking many hours every single day. I knew immediately that I would now be able to achieve every goal I had set for myself with my online business, including being able to finally write a book.

Everything starts with our original idea. I may have an idea for a blog post, based on something I was thinking about, a conversation with a friend on Facebook, or from a book I am reading. I then write and publish that blog post to get my idea and message out to the world. But that is not the end. In fact, it is only the beginning.

The next thing I do is to turn that blog post into an article to submit to the article directories. This extends and expands my reach many times over, as there will always be more people who find me through my articles than those who find my blog.

You can then combine several of your articles into a short report on your topic. This way you have already repurposed your original idea into three different formats – blog post, article, and short report.

After that I may create an audio recording with this same exact content, then a webinar or video, and on to an outline for a course I may teach live or add to one of my membership sites. There is really no limit to what you can create this way.

Other ways to repurpose your content include creating an e-course, writing autoresponder messages, commenting on other people’s blogs, starting threads in forums or on the social media sites, and creating checklists for your target audience on your specific topic.

If your original idea is popular with your audience when repurposed into many of these formats, think about turning it into a paid eBook, book for Kindle, or traditional book. You will be confident that your book will do well if it has already been well-received in other ways. I did this with my first book, Huge Profits With a Tiny List. It had started out as a series of blog posts right here on this very blog, and over the next year I turned it into every type of content I have discussed here.

Writing and publishing a book takes time, energy, and effort. Knowing that the material you will be including in your book has already been tested out makes a lot of sense. Go back to your original articles and blog posts to see what you have that could be repurposed into one of these formats.

Content Creation: Repurpose Your Content to Reach More Prospects

Creating content for your blog and other sites on a regular basis will help ensure that you build your online business over time and reach more new prospects. Most of us come online without having written a book or anything else that will give us the credibility and visibility we need to be successful. By thinking of yourself as a content creation machine you will see that within a few months your name will be everywhere when someone searches for the keywords that best represent what you have to offer others.

You do not need to be a professional writer or the expert in your field in order to create content that will help you to make a name for yourself. I find that the more I write, or record, information on my main topics the more I know. I used to do quite a bit of research for anything I prepared, but soon I realized that people wanted to learn from my experiences more than by reading something more academic.

Your content creation will be more productive if you repurpose everything you do. This means that a blog post or article can be turned into a webinar training or short report, and that I am always thinking of how to use different mediums to get my message out to the world. The idea is to say the same or similar things over and over again, because we all need to hear and see information multiple times before it becomes a part of our thinking and belief system.

Make the content creation fun so that you will look forward to sharing your ideas with people who will benefit by learning from you.

Become An Online Content Publisher

Creating content is the lifeblood of your online business, but did you know that you can become a content publisher to maximize your efforts and achieve a higher level of success? A ‘content publisher’ is someone who uses their own and other sources of content to build sites, set up blogs, write books of all types, and create products. the idea is that you will use content created by others that you have permission to use in your own sites and materials.

One source of content that you can publish is from the article directories. Other people have written about every topic under the sun, and this is available to you at no cost. You must follow the rules, which say that you must give the original author full credit, not make any changes to the article, and keep the resource box (author’s bio) intact. Other than that, authors who submit to these article directories have given you full permission to use their writing.

Public domain is another great source available to you as a content publisher. I love the government sites and have used this type of content on several of my niche sites. There are rules about this as well, but you can find out exactly what they are if you search online for this information.

PLR (private label rights) is another great source of content. I buy lots of PLR for my sites, and have even used it in two of my published books. There are several people I recommend for buying high quality PLR, including Nicole Dean, Alice Seba, Ronnie Nijmeh, and Melissa Ingold. You must purchase from a reputable source or you may not be happy with the quality and style of what you get.

Start thinking of yourself as a content publisher and your horizons will broaden very quickly.

How To Write An Ecourse For Passive Online Revenue

If you want to learn how to write an e-course I will explain it here. You can write an e-course to attract new prospects and to stay connected to those who have already joined your list. If you are not familiar with what an e-course is exactly, I will explain in great detail here. This is simply a series of short lessons on a specific area of your niche. If you work in the area of small business marketing, for example, you may want to write lessons on productivity or time management. If your area of expertise is in personal development, you could write something about letting go of fear or anger. I think you get the idea here; it’s all about teaching just a tiny segment of what you go to further connect with your target audience.

There are several ways to create your e-course, so it is just a matter of personal preference. I like to choose my topic based on the questions I am being asked by the people on my list and in my programs. Then I write it out completely, dividing it into seven parts. Each part, or lesson, is only about three paragraphs long. This is because I will be delivering it over time through emails and I don’t want the email message to be too long.

I am also going to think about what I can promote during the

Marketing Plan – Strategy For Online Success

You must have a marketing plan if you intend on making money from the very beginning with your online business. You can make a formal schedule for yourself, or spend the first couple of hours each day marketing yourself and your business. You will soon find that this can be fun, especially after you begin making some sales. Think about marketing as sharing the information about what you are doing with as many people as possible who would benefit from your knowledge and expertise.

Blogging is the first way I use to get the word out. I keep my posts to under five hundred words. This makes them easier to read, and more likely that someone will click on my link to actually read the sales letter for the product I am promoting. Be sure to write each post so that it will stand on its own merits, regardless of whether your reader has been to your site before or is brand new. Also, do not attempt to sell with your post. Instead, share important information that will encourage the reader to want to know more.

I then take the blog post and turn it into

Have You Created A Profit Pulling E-Course?

E-courses are simply a series of messages that make up a mini-course on a particular niche topic. They can be delivered through your autoresponder sequence, and will help to connect you and your message with your prospects. I created my first e-course in 2007, and have now found them to be an excellent way to generate income. When writing one for your niche remember to keep the topic as narrow as possible, include a link to the entire course in the second or third lesson, and add your own or affiliate links to the bottom of each lesson.

Keeping your topic narrow will enable you to give detailed information in your e-course. For example, instead of writing about online marketing, write about copywriting and sales letters. Instead of writing about time management, write about managing your time if you work from home. This means that your prospects will learn more about the area that you are most knowledgeable in.

Beginning with the second lesson, you will want to provide a link to your entire e-course in each lesson. I learned this the hard way, when people began contacting me to receive a missing lesson they had not received or could not find in their email. Even though they can download the

Repurpose Your Content To Share With Your Prospects

Repurposing your content will help you to reach more people than ever before, and save your precious time as well. Repurposing is the process of taking something you have already written and turning it into other formats in different ways. Before doing this with anything you have already created, think about the people you are trying to reach, what makes sense for your target audience, and how you will monetize everything you repurpose. By taking this simple action you will have greater success with this process.

Think about the people you want to reach with your message and information. By identifying who you want to connect with you will be able to better craft what you write or record to give them the specific details they are looking to receive. Remember that the Internet has lots of information available to anyone who is searching, so be sure that you are only targeting the people you can best serve. There are plenty of people out there who want exactly what you have to offer them.

How does your target audience prefer to receive their information? Many people still prefer to read, and may even choose to print out what you prepare for them. Others like to listen to the information while they are driving or exercising. Still other people, such as me, enjoy having
